Description
The highly polished single open flute allows for easier chip formation and evacuation and also provides for a sharper solid carbide cutting edge that delivers a beautiful edge finish on a variety of materials. Manufactured from premium micro-grain carbide allows for superb wear resistance and tool strength. Exclusive point geometry contributes to improved bottom finish and plunging capabilities.

Why use Single Flute?
The reason we use fewer flutes in some materials has to do with the behaviour of chips in certain materials. Simply put, aluminium creates bigger chips, all other things being equal. This has to do with the way the material curls as well as other factors. The space created by the flutes of the endmill is where the chips have to go as they’re being cut. If there is not enough space relative to the volume of the chips, you’re going to have problems and may wind up with a broken cutter. Therefore, we typically dial back the number of flutes for aluminium because it creates a larger volume of flute space to carry away the oversized chips
The website for calculating feeds and speeds
Calculating feeds and speeds can sometimes seem like a daunting task that’s why we recommend using the following links to improve your cut quality.
It can be hard to believe that poor cut quality and short tool life is often the result of slow cutting which is the result of excess friction and rubbing, to get the most out of your carbide tool and improve cutting times please visit the links above.
